about
Ivona Martincic is a Croatian-born artist and interior designer based in London.
Her vibrant, playful paintings explore imagination, freedom, and the worlds we create within ourselves. Through bold colour, symbolism, and strong female figures, she creates worlds that balance confidence with curiosity, inviting viewers to reconnect with wonder, possibility, and self-expression.
Originally trained in interior design at KLC School of Design in London, Ivona brings a strong sense of space, composition, and storytelling to her artistic practice. Her paintings combine mixed media, acrylic, and oil paint, often blending realistic elements with expressive textures and unexpected details.
Before focusing primarily on painting, she became known for her crochet street art installations under the name Voona, including the iconic Broken Heart piece that became a symbol of hope in Zagreb following the earthquake and pandemic.
Today her work is collected by art lovers around the world who are drawn to colour, optimism, and meaningful storytelling. Whether creating a painting or designing a space, she is interested in the same question:
How can beauty, imagination, and playfulness make everyday life richer?
